Just curious to see which photography magazines you all read regularly with view to establishing a general consensus as to what the best magazine is?

I am looking to subscribe to something and there seems to be so much choice.

I want one that will give tips and tutorials to a beginner, along with equipment reviews and more advanced articles as well.

:)

I got a Digital SLR User subscription for Christmas, it's really good though the reader submissions are always better than their staff efforts!

it varies for me depending on the issue and whats in it! i.e what type of tutorials they have and if its something i want to practise!

I used to buy Practical Photography every month and its still my prefered one, but after a while most photography magazines will repeat themselves a lot (for the sake of new people getting into photography) so I just get the occasional one now. In terms of fact finding the web is better, and nowadays if you want to look at good photos the web is better too. You find great galleries by just setting photography as an interest in StumbleUpon. I dont use the online stores that advertise on the mags either, so essentially its a lot of money for 10 letters and an interview with a professional.

My favourite is 'Professional Photographer' or Black and White Photography' but I can't often find them for sale, so my new favourite is 'Amateur Photographer'. :)

Profesional Photographer for me, and The BJP if there is anything good in it, normaly just have a gander in the shop.

i don't buy any, i did buy one a couple of times called.. erm.. Digital SLR, but wasn't that impressed with it. so stopped buying it and don't buy any now!

Digital Camera Magazine - 12 mth subscription as a birthday gift

I can honestly say it's a good read and I look forward to each new month. I can see how it will begin repeating itself after a while as the seasons come around but i'd expect that with most magazines.
Not too fussed with the advertising or product testing but I do like the CD tutorials and digital darkroom techniques. Thumbs up from me.

I think the web is better for researching specific techniques, but I do like the "read on the tube to work" ability of magazines ;)

Seem to manage to end up buying them all throughout the month, which I keep saying I must stop doing when I pour them into the recycle bin the following month, its costing me a small fortune.

Subscribed to:
Amateur Photographer, which being weekly gives me something to read on a Saturday morning which is quite nice. Except at the moment, its usual read within 30 minutes, less adds more content please AP.
Outdoor Photography. Only on my second magazine, subscribed after the first one it was that good. Proper pictures, concentrates on photography rather than camera equipment which is a nice change.

Read most months:
Photography Monthly
Digital Camera
Digital SLR Photography
Digital SLR User
