Which magnetic screw driver set are you using ?

Ive tried multiple sets, cheap ones from the rainforest, even the more expensive corsair screwdriver set isnt magnetic, price is not a problem, I just want a decent set which will actually hold onto the more awkward screws in the PC to get in place and not require me to shake the hell out of my PC of take half of it apart again to find the one tiny screw that the screw driver decided to let go of.

Get a set of these with the screw retaining clips.

You’ll find a fair few screws don’t have any ferrous material in them these days, so even the most magnetic screwdrivers won’t work.

Use the Drapers to get the screws seated and then use a better/correct sized screwdriver to tighten.

Doesn’t matter how magnetised your tools are if the screws are made of Chinesium.

Hasn't impacted me to any real degree yet The vast majority of screws I come across still respond to magnetic screwdrivers. Certainly enough to make it worthwhile magnetising my drivers.

Get something decent that will cover everything and be done with it rather than messing about with cheap sets that may end up stripping screw heads.

I have the iFixit Mako 64 bit set and it’s top drawer. Not cheap but does all devices and will last a lifetime.
