I dont want to pay the premium price for a 120GB hard drive for my Xbox 360. So instead I want to upgrade it and put a 2.5" SATA hard drive.

Does anyone know what the make and model works?
Does it really matter which one I buy as i need to flash it anyway?

I recently did my uncles PS3 to make it 500GB but i only went by some comments from this forum.

Google is your friend.
I looked it up and it seemed like far too much effort for my liking so I just bought a second hand one.

Pretty sure this is frowned about round here, best bet is to check with homebrew forums and such.

Let us know how it went though.

Has to be a 120Gb Western Digital "BEVS" drive AFAIK.

I'm surprised the sites you looked at didn't tell you this information, seeing as it needs to be a specific model drive.

Yup. We can not advise you how to do this here.

With the recent announcements regarding the banning of non-approved memory devices, I'm not sure it's even worth the hassle.

Buy a proper one and just no go to the pub for a couple of days.

your telling us that console modding is frowned upon he's not flashing that thing

"For the record, devices which enable "homebrew" applications to be run and also allow piracy are considered piracy enabling devices, and universally their primary purpose for almost all purchasers of the device is to pirate games, so the "homebrew" excuse is not a valid one."

I'm sure it's more than possible to run "homebrew" or "pirated" games on a "diy" HDD.

Wouldn't be surprised if this thread gets deleted/locked.

As far as Im aware it only saves you buying a MS inflated cost disk.

BUT it will be using some copyright protected code i believe so its technically iffy.
