need help choosing silent mATX case.

looking at

Nanoxia Deep Silence 4
Fractal Define Mini
SilverStone Temjin Series TJ08B-E

current favourite is Nanoxia, super silent, well built, not expensive.

any other suggestions?

Well I have two Silverstone TJ-08B builds.

One is a 4770K/MSI Twin Frozr 7950 air cooled build, the other used for a server I was playing with.

To be honest, I like the case and the looks, but they are pretty cramped, offer little option for watercooling, and can be a bit noisy.

So much so, that it has started to irritate me, as I feel the system does not get adequate cooling to my GPU, recently I have been looking at droping my optic bay plus the hard drives and going for a bay res combo with a 180mm and 120mm rad. But it seems a lot of money that would be better spent on two 360 rads in a better case.

I then thought about just getting a new case, and to be honest going back to full ATX, even thought of the Phanteks Enthoo Primo, but would probably lose the mATX motherboard in there.

The Phanteks cases look good, and I only just seen a you tube vid for the Phanteks Ethnoo Mini XL which looks interesting. So I may hold off for now.

The Evolv is too angular looking, though if the NZHT 440 offered better air cooling that would tempt me, as would that same case design with a specific mATX design with two 240/280 rads.

I'm coming from a TJ08-E actually (which has been a great case), moving in to an Evolv. Personally I really like the looks of the Evolv, it offers something different. I'm just fed up with black square blocks for cases, zero imagination, and this is an object I spend more time sat next to than anything else I own, so the appearance is important, as much as the internal workings and performance. For me, the Evolv offers the best of both worlds. But if the looks don't appeal to someone, then obviously it's a non-starter. The NXZT cases are elevated somewhat above the norm with their designs IMO, and I'd definitely be considering one of those if it wasn't for the Evolv.

well, 2 problems with Evolv.

1, it's 23cm wide. I need 21cm absolutely max due to the table it will go in (Nanoxia is 20, Fractal 21, Silverstone 21) should have mentioned that first.

2, it's 2x the price of Nanoxia. is it 2x better? not so sure.

silence is the most important factor. don't care about the space too much, just aircooler and tiny passive GPU, 1 SSD, 1 HDD, fully modular PSU soon.

I did a build for a mate in a 350D, it was air cooled, you can barely hear a thing. That's with a 2 x fan setup on the front, 2 x fan setup on the roof and the rear exhaust. Its 21cm in width which should suit what your after, its a really nice case with a nice big window.

ok, so it'll be the nanoxia. at 55 quid it's really what I'm looking for and probably represents the best value too. Now I just have to decide on color, as I want to place order asap.

black or grey?
