Hi all been a while since I have been on here and looking for the best MB for a stable OC on a G3258-K anniversary which I bout for £55 about a year ago..

The board must run DDR3 as thats whats coming out of my old rig...

Have a Sapphire R270 R9 for a GPU and a 800W PSU so thats all good....
Only looking to run 1080-1920 on a 22" so nothing flash like a 4K screen to worry about...

Been looking at Z97's and the cheaper Z170's but have a budget of £100 really

So what do you think of these 3 as options

1) Asus Z97-P
2) Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3
3) ASRock Z97 Anniversary

Thanks in advance Lee ( aka cash_13 )

Forgot to mention it will be watercooled as well as a friend gave me a new unwanted H80i Corsair

You need a socket 1150 motherboard so don't go buying a Z170 as that's socket 1151. Any Z87/Z97 board will overclock it but so will many H81 and B85 boards. See this list.

It may be worth noting that some motherboards may require a BIOS update for the G3258, so maybe check the CPU compatability list of any motherboard you are thinking of.

I have my G3258 in a Gigabyte Z97X SOC motherboard, worked out the box but not done any overclocking as yet. The Asrock Anniversary was designed with the G3258 in mind if I remember correctly, with overclock presets for the G3258 Anniversary. (Hence Anniversary in MB name) http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97 Anniversary/

Gigabyte Z97X SOC is coming up as either end of line on some sites or between £150 to £200 on others so well out of my price range.... thanks for the info though...
