Which mechanical keyboard?

I need some advice. I'm a desperate man!

I've been looking at mechanical keyboards to upgrade my ageing Logitech G11 for some time, but I can't decide which to buy.

Ideally I wouldn't like to lose any features of the G11, but in getting better quality kit, I am open to compromises.

I don't want to spend more than £150, that seems utterly excessive. If it can be the right side of £100 that's excellent!

My main use is going to be everyday kind of things. Surfing the web, forums, emailing and so on. I also game, mainly FPS. I don't want a 'click' (i.e. no Cherry MX Blue), and I don't mind a tactile feel, but I have a feeling that I'd prefer no tactile feedback. So Cherry MX Black, Red, Clear probably. I'm open to suggestions though.

I do use the dedicated media controls on my G11 a lot. They are great. I can live with a Fn+F1 kind of arrangement, but dedicated keys are better. I also use the macro keys on my G11 to automate repetitive text entry for some of the work I do. These would be useful to me, but not essential I guess.

What prompts this desperate thread? Well I spilt a whole glass of lemonade onto the G11 last night and it's sticky and probably not going to recover. The membrane is also a bit hard and the keypresses feel awful, it's been used to death for about 4 years. Also, OcUK have the Ozone Strike on offer today, so speedy responses would be good! :D

So far I have considered:

Ozone Strike
Corsair K90
Mionix Zibal 60
FILCO Majestouch
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth
Steelseries 7G

Would really appreciate any help and especially opinions from current users of mechanical keyboards! Thanks in advance.

since I can't recommend you an mk 80, as you don't want mx blues, I'd say the blackwidow ultimate stealth :)

The steelseries would be the best choice, unless you want a back light, then the Zibal 60.

Back light is nice to have, not essential though. Why the Steelseries then?

Big thread in the PC Games section. Should give you some pointers. :)

Thanks for that, I'll have a read.

Why the Razer board?

Thanks guys.

I just realised I have a media centre remote for play/pause controls if I need it, so been looking at the Filco Majestouch-2 boards. Unfortunately OcUK don't stock them, but they appear to be readily available. I met and spoke to the sales guy of the UK stockist and they had some impressive kit there. The Filco boards felt excellent and the quality was top notch. I also had a play with the Corsair K60 and K90 recently and found them less impressive, more gimmicky, but hey, I'm coming from a G11 here.

Maybe it's time for something more grown up and better quality (especially in this price range).

Now if only there was a Filco Ninja Majestouch-2 with Cherry MX Browns (seems to be the best all round switch) that has a UK layout.
