Sorry for the **** title let me see if I can explain better.
My current rig is a 3700x on a Gigabyte AB-350 Gaming 3 Motherboard with a Zotac 3080 OC
Ram 2x Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey (TLGD416G30
I use it mainly for VR Sim flying using a Reverb G2 playing DCS
I need every frame I can to keep the G2 smooth. I have had a feeling that this Ram is letting my system down for a while, I have tried a OC on the memory but without much luck, interestingly it seems that despite having the same serial numbers one of the kits is rated for 1200mhz frequency and one for 1066. I guess not all ram is created equally?
I was thinking of picking up a faster 32gb kit to help in the short term with the system I have. However I am planning in the New Year at some point in picking up a B550 Motherboard and either a 5600x or 5800x
With that in mind can anyone help me choose, I have been looking at the Crucial Ballistix C16 3600 2x16gb kits but I did read that 4 sticks are better than two for Ryzen so should I be looking at picking up 4x8gb sticks ?
Also with the Zen3 upgrade in mind am I better going for faster than 3600mhz ram is there any point in looking at 4000mhz kits ?
Any help as always will be gratefully received .
