Can anyone advise how much the amount of memory (512 vs 1024M GDDR5) influences the heat production and power consumption.

The Sapphire HD 6670 512MB is only 3£ cheaper compared to the 1024M version if taken the delivery costs into account (buying the 1024M not from OC).

However, the card will go into a ITX build in a SG06 case. So I'm more concerned about the heat production and power problem.

Is 512 Mbyte enough for a 1400x900 monitor ?

Thanks

for £3 more, get the 1GB version.

The extra RAM chips will use a tiny fraction of the wattage needed to run the card.

As far as I can tell from a quick google, 2GB GDDR5 pulls 8.7 watts, so you've got nothing to worry about with the difference between 512/1024.

The memory size won't make any difference to the heat at all, unless the GPU is clocked higher on the 1GB models for example.
