What make / speed of memory would you recommend for a system comprising of the following MB and processor.
I want 16GB of Ram ( or if 32GB would not effect system overclock then yip 32GB would be an option )
My aim is to overclock the CPU to 5.1GHZ

Motherboard : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...cket-1151-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-6cv-as.html

CPU : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/inte...ocket-lga1151-processor-retail-cp-65n-in.html

Unfortunately Gigabyte s Aorus boards aren't in stock, for the reason they are the best VRM designed for Intel 9th Gen .

Ram speed 2666hz but for 32GB at a nice price ! Ram speed isn't as key with intel unlike Ryzen , but should overclock to 3000hz !

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £468.47 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Above is prob cheaper then what you were looking at :)
If you can hunt down Aorus Elite for £150 then great or Gaming X

Thanks for the reply , super informative , i'lltry to source a Aorus board.
EDIT : i'm currently able to find these two boards in stock , do they have good VRM's ?? and suitable for a 5GHZ + overclock on a 9600k / kf ( subject to CPU silicon lottery ) ??

Have you bought the CPU and Mobo yet?

Honestly in 95% of cases people are better off with Ryzen.
I know this and i have been waiting for the next gen Ryzen cpu's to see if their single core speed was worth considering as i use my PC mainly to play iRacing which is reliant on Single core speed and does not use more than one core.

Racing sims, like you say are about fast and strong Single/dual core performance.
Think some of the latest can push 6 cores, which your intel would handle .

Z490 has been ****** till ****** but might be worth holding out in it. Same price tag but you'll be getting 6 cores and 12 threadsbfor same price but z490 are more costly

Yar one thing for sure is with Tech its always a waiting game for the next gen stuff , and always asking yourself should i wait or should i buy now , lol
on a side note will the next gen motherboards offer faster M2 drive speed options than current Z390/X570 motherboards

No, z490 and x570 have the same speed. It's the controller's on the PCIe 4.0 that are slow !
They are not hitting max speed till Q3 this year when controller's that can handle the max output speeds are released. Hence can't stick current PCIe 4.0 m.2 in Next Gen consoles as they are slower then required spec.

So don't buy a PCIe 4.0 m.2 just yet..

my current M2 drive is pretty old , its : https://www.samsung.com/uk/memory-storage/970-evo-nvme-m2-ssd/MZ-V7E500BW/
the 500gb version
Will there be much speed difference ( M2 read / write ) between PCIe 3.0 and PCIe 4.0 , has them information been released yet?
Thanks.

To be honest, you wouldn't notice with 95% of applications .
If your doing say Geo Mapping then it can make a huge difference, say mapping a city could be cut down by a day with change to PCIe 4.0 .

Consoles are really smashing SSD.. what happened before was assets were double loaded , even if you swapped in a sata 3 SSD, now this doesn't have to be done , hence the massive increase they are reporting .

Maybe a full fat 7000/7000 read/write PCIe 4.0 drive could make a difference over basic sata 3 SSD and slight improvement with gaming, but have to wait and see for that

Thanks for clarifying that , sounds like I'll just buy now rather than waiting , as there is not much benefit in waiting for pcie 4
