which memory out of theses 2 is better
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency
my budget says the geil but i dont want to get it if its not that good

Go for the ballistix 5300,mine arrived today, 4GB of the stuff & is running @ 972Mhz 4-4-4-12 straight out of the box :D Well happy, still a bit testing to do though.

I had the Geil ordered & swapped it for this stuff, thank god for that

Should be good for over 1000Mhz with ease

will it work with ever of these mobos
Asus P5N-E SLI 650i
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4
as am not sure which one to get yet

i was leaning towards getting the Asus P5N-E SLI 650i but whats the DS4 like and is it much better

I would go for either the P5N-E or a Gigabyte DS3P. The DS4 isn't really worth the extra money.

Not bad. I had to drop to 5-4-4-12 to get my 4 running at 1000mhz @2.3v.

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA1065
is that worth the extra few quid or am i best sticking with the ballistix 5300

I mate

hard to say wich is better, PC2 5300 or PC2 8500

i never had any PC2 8500( so I can´t compare),but my Pc2 5300 goes where PC2 8000 goes :D
(even a lot of PC2 8000 / 8500 do not goes at that far :D )

( but this is with 2.4Vdimm)

aniway,if the diference of price is not much, with PC2 8500 you will be 100% sure of high quality ram
