Hi all,

Bit of advise regarding which memory to get to run with my new Q6600 (G0 stepp) when I get it.

Geil Black Dragon DDR2 4.0GB PC6400 800 MHz

or

Corsair 4096MB TwinX XMS2 6400 DDR2 Memory Kit (2 x 2048MB) 800 MHz

or

OCZ 4GB Kit (2x2048) Vista Upgrade DDR2 PC2-5400 667 MHz

or any other decent 4GB bundle you can reccomend.

**** NB******

All will be running on my exisiting GA-965P-DS4 rev 1.0 motherboard. :)

Will you be overclocking the Q6600?

If not then the OCZ PC5400 kit will suffice.

If so, then you'll need a PC6400 kit, and they're pretty much all the same. I would choose any from the OCZ, G.Skill and Geil kits, depending on whether you want gold, blue or black heatsinks.

TBH I don't think I will be overclocking the Q6600. I don't have much luck when it comes to things like that so knowing me I would set my house on fire lol .

I already have OCZ memory in at present with my Dual Core and it's great so I am tempted to go for them again.

Will there be any benefit from running 800MHz instead of 667MHz because obviously the OCZ package is 667MHz??

Thanks

I have also found a OCZ 4GB Kit (2x2048) Vista Performance Gold DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz kit but it is the most expensive out of all of them, would this be the better choice?

Nope no real benefit of PC6400 if you won't be overclocking.

I would go for the OCZ PC5400 Vista Upgrade Gold Series kit since you aren't.
