... my current hardware.

4x2GB DDR3 Ram (1333MHz)
GeForce 8800 Ultra running a Dell 30" and a Dell 20"
Bliss 8600 GT running a Panasonic Plasma
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
OS : Vista x64 Ultimate

The reason I am asking is that I have tried now several ASUS boards where I ALWAYS ended up getting bluescreen one way or another and I am kinda tired of it.

Could someone suggest a MoBo which is KNOWN to work 100% without ANY problems ?

Budget ? Don't care at the moment - if a mobo is perfect then I have no problem to save some money for a bit and pay 300 quid if necessary .. just wanna have a rock solid thing ...

I think the worse board I ever bought for my Q6600 / DDR2 system was the ASUS Striker Extreme ...

Oh and I do NOT overclock even if perfectly doable ... just wanna plug in my bits and bots and start installing Windows :)

I bought the 2nd GOU only about two month later and I got the BSOD' right at the beginning during the installation - so it was def. no heat or PSU issue (got 1100 Watt).

The ONLY OS I was able to install was Vista Business, Vista Ultimate Bluescreened with a memory problem, even though the memory has been memtested for almost 72 hours without errors.

Microsoft suggested (after paying craszzy money for support) at that point that the Ram isn't compatible with the mobo even though they were on the HCL ... They suggested installing with 2GB only and then installing a specific patch but I never got so far that Vista installed.

At some point they released SP1 and when I slipstreamed it into Vista Ultimate which installed fine .. so whatever it was - it doesn't occour with Vista SP1 .. quite a few people have problems with this motherboard with all sorts of BSOD errors.

Anyway - back to topic ... some of the driver for the old mobo are still from 2006 and 2007 which is obviously quite old.

So even though I know the system runs ok ish at the moment I wan't to swap it board.

And RizlaKing, almost forgot to mention something similar : I am NOT able to use standby OR Hibernate .. When the PC comes back from Standby it shows the locked login screen and freezes up. Hibernating does still cause bluescreens ...

Thinking about it .. I THINK this is simply NVIDIA Fake-onboard raid related ...

I already bought a new raid controller and some SAS disks (Adapted 5408 and the new Seagate 1TB SAS and 73GB for boot) which we use in our server, but funny enough, it doesn't work on this motherboard either - so cannot even turn off the onboard controller ...

Edit : and I NEVER OC'ed .. don't intend to either ..

Hiya,

maybe I cought a mobo with an error somewhere, but when you search on google for this motherboard and BSOD you will find more ..

@ memtest : I don't mean that DOS program .. I used a device we have at work which we use to test memory (ECC and non-ECC) for mission critical server. This one is usually very reliable and even "too" good :P
