Which mobo would you have people, oh thanks for your answer?

Asus P8Z68-V PRO GEN3 Intel Z68

or

MSI Z68A-GD65-G3 Intel Z68 (with 20% cashback)

i must admit i was going for the asus until i looked at 20% cashback

Good question mikey?

i just like good quality kit and if i want to overclock i can do? but most of the time i dont?
also i want to get back into gaming?

video editing ?
transcoding / encoding
ssd?
fast boot important to you?
dual bios?
what's more important bang for buck or build quality

both look great, I personally just bought the MSI one because I was sold by the whole military standard testing with high quality parts / capacitors ..... + its got the 20% discount.....

how many cards you planning on running? Is sli or crossfire your plan?

both have pcie and ivybridge...

bang for buck? and quality:?

just 1 graphic card (nvidia 470)

i would like ssd, but boot times are not important

just 1 pci-e asuszen* sound card

and yes i would buy a new chip (cpu) in the future to upgrade

thats if my parts work... adding stress to my week... a certain company named after a rainforest ..
a: delivered the wrong motherboard
b: use YODEL as a courier whom decided to throw my box over the fence as i wernt in... which contained my cpu, ssd and water cooling kit. luckily my dog in the back garden didnt decide to rip the box open either.

Both good boards, however I do own the Asus P8Z68 V/Gen3 and think its an excellent board ,no issues to report.

The MSI is £40 cheaper after the cash back.

how'd you work that out? the p8z68-v/gen3 is £140, the msia-g65 g3 will be £125/£120(dependent on if its 20% of the cost of the board or vat refund which is little under 17% not 20%, see the msi 20% off thread in the latest news section for the details on the confusion). so to me that says at best £20 difference, think you're thinking of the z68a-g55 g3 which is £125 then ~£100 after cash back(£100 or £104).

I based it on the boards the OP actually asked about.

FYI the MSI discount is 20% of the purchase price.

lol, no need for this to descend into an arguement. My opinion is that they are both good boards, very similar spec, i'm sure you'd be happy with either if i'm honest.

as stated though, the MSI is cheaper currently and I would venture to say that we do use better components.

btw, it's the 20% VAT that we are offering to refund
