hi there
I am currently running a Q6600 on a P5n-e mobo, however, having read various posts regarding how limiting this board is I was looking to upgrade?

Hence the question, I am also looking to upgrade my Graphics, but looking for MOBO first.

Any suggestions please ?

current system:
Quad Q6600
P5n-3 SLI (nneds upgrading)
2x1GB SLI Nvidia 8500 (needs upgrading)
Arctic cooler 7
4 gb DDR2
600w power supply (needs upgrading)

The asus p5q range are pretty good with the q6600, using the deluxe with a quad and have had some great results with it. Ive heard of problems in the past with asus boards and ocz ram, but im currently using 4gb (2x2) of ocz reaper pc6400 without issue.

Agreed;)
Is it really neccesary to upgrade from 600watt??

well the 600w psu i have is a standard power supply , its fan makes a lot of noise and the voltages seem to be fluctuating a little, hence the need to get a more stable/quiet psu!

was looking at the bequiet 650w modular. looks like it can do the business!

Thanks for that T. the delux version that you own, did you have any problems installing or finding RAM for this board?

Thanks

Not really, I read around here and at the time OCZ RAM seemed to give problems with this mobo (though I think that's been fixed with a BIOS update) so I opted for Corsair 2Gb modules which have never given me any problems except that I purchased 8 sets of their 4Gb RAM sets and 2 of them were faulty as delivered. I returned 1 set for a replacement and RMA'ed the other direct with Corsair.
