Hello all, so I currently have a Samsung T240390 (24inch) TV acting as a monitor. I watched my friend playing GTA V on his computer and we have relatively the same graphics cards, i don't recall which he had but it was an nvidia one which spec wise matched almost the same with mine. which is a ATI 290x.
Now I think the reason for the quality of his image being so much more realistic-looking is the monitor itself...because If i turn the brightness of my TV up ...a lot, it starts to look far more clearer thanit does normally but i cannot use that brightness for long..its too much lol.
So I think the problem I have is my TV isn't really designed for PC...and sitting within arms length of it...so I think its time to get an actual monitor...
In my research, Ive come across something called "FreeSync" which apparently is a "good" thing...my question is...how good is it? Should I ensure i get a monitor that has this feature...or does it not really make any real difference that you'd notice..?
Also.. I've found this monitor which matches my budget bit on the higher side to be honest...but overall I do like it, it has some features like Flicker free which is a good thing specially with my eyes.. they're bad enough as it is!
[UPDATE]
So i just googled about this refresh rate because i read somewhere just now that your GPU has to support it. And I came across this:
"Your GPU supports 144 Hz refresh rate , but you need to reach 144 fps in your games to benefit from that refresh rate."
Well, yes i can get 144FPS in some games, and i can get that in most games if i lower settigns but i prefer the quality of the image so i tend to have everything on ultra and i still get between 60-100FPS so I guess the 144hz monitor is not really a feature i need...
The refresh rate is 144hz which in fairness i don't fully understand but apparently higher is better! so I think this monitor ticks a lot of boxes...what do you guys think? Or should i get a different monitor entirely?
Thanks in advance!
