Ill be using the computer for design work, drawing and modeling packages, games, and watching films, could anybody give me some advice of the pros n cons on each, i've been out of the comp games loop for a while now , is 1440x900 a recognised resolution for things like games?

Thankyou

Simon

regarding gaming, take a look at this article :) Those models you have narrowed it down to are pretty good. The Hanns-G is very popular right now, take a look at the big thread about it if you do a search. The Videoseven is cheaper but it's spec varies because it is using a different panel (8ms TN Film panel from Chi Mei Optoelectronics instead of 8ms Samsung TN Film panel). Regardless, this is a widely used panel, more so than the Samsung panel in fact, and has also been used in some other popular models like the Acer AL1916W and Viewsonic VA1912W. There's a fair amount of info on the Acer in the sticky which should help.

Basically both screens are going to offer pretty comparable performance in average use really since both are based on similarly spec-ed and performing TN Film panels. Have a look at this section to understand what TN Film offers just so you are aware of it's characteristics overall as a technology. Both screens will be pretty comparable performance wise really, leaving you to decide based on price, looks and features :)
