Which monitor for triple screen eyefinity setup ?

Just about to press the button on a new system - the titan spinosaur i will order that with a radeon 6950 and a 60gb ssd drive. i may also add another 6950 for crossfire either immediately or if necessary.

i will be using a triple screen set-up for mainly racing (iracing plus others), flights sims (rise of flight, il2 : cliffs of dover) and some fps such as bfbc2.

the 2nd 6950 is not really necessary for my main use of iracing - it doesn't work well but i think i will see worthwhile gains for the other stuff. so .....

i now need to decide which monitor to buy - i will be using an Obutto gaming cockpit

Low input lag and good responsiveness are probably the most important consideration plus as thin a bezel as possible. Viewing angles shouldn't be too much of a problem as the side monitors will be angled towards me but

I am tempted by :-

Dell U2311H which as we know can be had for a good price at the moment

Samsung P2405H which nobody seems to have a bad word to say about it - is the bezel thin enough though ?

Benq XL2410T 120hz - many people seem to rate this on the racing forums for improved smoothness but the image quality itself seems to be average.

Getting a little greedy and looking at larger monitors like Hanns G HZ281HB - 27.5" and 1900x1200 which is a nicer format in triple screen although is more taxing or it's 25" sister which is a little unknown but may be a nice size for this setup.

One of the Ilyama 26" or 27" monitors - the 26" is a 1900x1200.

The latest batch of the racing cockpit should now take 3 screens up to 28" each.

Can't quite stretch to the Dell U2410 - too expensive for 3 of them.

As you can see I'm lost - I can't choose which sandwich to have for lunch let alone make a decision costing up to £1,000 for 3 monitors !

Thanks for any experience or guidance.

Cheers

Thanks chaps.

Yep - I have access to England UK forum and also use Racedepartment - involved in there weekliy MX5 league at the moment. I will try there too but you tend to find better technical knowledge here to be honest - a good gaming screen should be equally good in CoD as on iRacing the same principles apply to low lag - decent responsiveness to avoid ghosting / trails etc and nice colours. Then add on the three screen issue which is bezel and overall size.

The 120hz monitors seem to be getting good write ups on iRacing but not convinced what I read here about image quality.

The Dell U2311H is tempting at the current price available although PCM has worried me mentioning that the colours can appear a bit muted on that screen for gaming purposes - I thought one of the advantages of that panel was it's better colours which I assumed to be more vibrant but seems to be more natural. Looks like it has thin bezels and a displayport which will simplify things a little with eyefinity. Reviews well enough for input lag and responsiveness.

I do come back to the Samsung P2405H though which seems well liked - not sure how thin the bezels are - a chunky bottom part of the screen but that shouldn't affect landscape eyefinity but may do if I ever decide to try potrait mode which I know some have (though not really with 1080 screens - a bit thin).

Also tempted to go look at the Hanns G 28" screen - 1920x1200 which is nice - may be a bit overwhelming though (Or the Ilyama 26" / 27"). Tempting given that they are about the same as the Dells normally and cheaper than the Benq 120hz - although close at the moment given that the Benq is on a weekly special.

Does anybody with those screens have any views how they would work in a triple screen setup - size, bezels and general gaming performance ?

What would YOU buy for triple screen gaming ?

Thanks

Thanks for that.

Still not sure - my first problem is the size of monitor - probably will stick at 23"/24" range x 3 monitors on a triple screen mount is likely to be overwhelming enough to be honest.

So stil in the market for low input lag, good responsiveness and punchy colours with slim bezels.

Will probably hold off on 120hz monitors - I have read that there may be some difficulty in getting 3 monitors operating at 120hz working reliably.

So looking for a good 23"/24" screen unless I can be persuaded to look at a 25"/26"/27" model - if it fits the criteria above.

Cheers

That is one I have looked at too - I do like the 1900x1200 resolution so it's not so squished. I also looked at the Hanns G 28" model too which seems to be de-listed here.

I am after low lag (under 10 ms if possible - like my 24WMGX3) and good responsiveness though too. I haven't found any detailed tftcentral or pcmonitors.org type detailed reviews for those screens though.
