LG 29UM57-P 29IN Ultrawide IPS LED Monitor 2560X1080 Glossy Black

Acer Predator XB271H bmiprz 27-inch Full HD (1920x1080) NVIDIA G-SYNC Monitor (Display Port & HDMI Port, 144Hz)

The only thing that concerns me is the lower resolution, will this give me a worse image?

I know the response time is 1000x better but its the quality of the picture I'm worried about that I'm degrading or will this not be the case as its a smaller screen ?

Many thanks for your help guys

The top one is IPS so will have deeper colours.

Bottom one is TN i believe so could be more faded, but its a good monitor so you might not have an issue with it. Are you using for gaming or design?

"thing that concerns me is the lower resolution,

Depends on the size. Would a 2" 1080p be low resolution? No pixels will be tiny. On a 100' screen they'll be big.

But it depends on usage, you could have bought 65" 1080p plasmas, for TV. They still look good. But if you are within 1m of a 65" it'll look pixelly.

27" for 1080p is a bit too low resolution for the screen size, you want to go for 1440 for that size.

There are pros and cons to IPS and TN.

IPS will have better colours, better viewing angles, but will have uneven backlight / IPS glow. They may be slower as well. More expensive

TN will have blander colours, poorer viewing angles, but have even backlight, but faster for games. Cheaper.

The image will be worse, yes, but whether it worries you or not is a different question. No one can afford the monitor that has everything and people just have to make compromises. Now personally I love the colours and wide viewing angles of IPS monitors, and IPS Glow really doesn't bother me at all, but many people really hate IPS Glow. A 27" 1920x1080 monitor has pretty large pixels, but that doesn't matter if you are 90% gaming, and again some people don't even care about the larger pixels, some do. An Ultrawide 29" ( in my opinion ) looks a lot smaller than a 27" Wide even though they have the same area. To my mind the 27" Wide is much more impressive. Again, though, some people will tell you exactly the opposite.
I know, I'm not being much help, because honestly it really comes down to which you feel will suit you better. All we can do is tell you what you probably already know. If you are a 90% gamer then the 27", without a doubt. But if you are less than 90% then it becomes a more difficult decision.

Lower PPI means higher need for AA, or none at all though.

29" may be very wide, but in height it's tiny, same as a 24" 1080p 16:9. You need to size up to get the extra height....which means a 34" UW, and that means a 3440x1440, therefore a faster GPU...
