Hello guys,

I sit in front of my monitor a little bit less than 10 hours a day.

I do not do any gaming. I do a lot of web browsing, Microsoft office, etc. And i watch a few movies a week.

Currently i am using a 24" Samsung SyncMaster 2494HS. It runs 1920x1080@60Hz.

I have been using this monitor for almost 10 years and i want to upgrade to something new.

I really want to try out a 120Hz monitor because i am sure it will be more soft on the eyes. On the other hand i would also like to try a larger monitor (27") running at 2560x1440.

But PC limitations would only allow me to run :

1. 1920x1080@120Hz (24")
2. 2560x1440@60Hz. (27")

Which option do you think would be the best? For the people which would suggest hardware upgrades to support 2560x1440@120Hz, i am not interested in that.

Thanks.

Hey guys.. I know there is some kind of calculation formula that has to do with bandwidth and i have searched for an answer and haven't found one.

The max resolution that Intel UHD 630 can display over HDMI is 4096x2304@24Hz. But i cant find the maximum Hz it can run at 1920x1080 and 2560x1440. Over HDMI 1.4. Anyone have an idea?

Can anyone calculate this?

Thanks

Considering you've kept the current one for 10 years, and assuming you will keep this one for a similar length of time, in your position I would buy a 27" 2560x1440 monitor which is capable of 120Hz.

You may only be able to run it at 60Hz now, but I assume you will upgrade your PC some time in the next 10 years, at which point you may find you are capable of running at the full 120Hz :)
