Which monitor?

Hey i'm looking to get a new monitor in the 22"-24" region. I'll have an 8800gtx card and i'll be using the monitor for game, internet, watching dvd's ect.

My budget is around £500 obviously for the 22" i would expect to pay less.

What monitor would you recommend me? :rolleyes:

(Dell seems a good choice)
Would it be a better to go for the 22" (would it be better for gaming?) 2inch seems little difference for the extra money they ask!

Even though the Dell 24" monitor is dearer it is so much better in terms of performance than any 22" monitor you would buy.

I currently have the Dell 24" connected to my 8800GTX and its picture quality is amazing, better than any monitor I have had!

I had the same concerns you did as it is a lot more money for the extra 2" of screen space but its definately worth it!

There seems to be a lot of people moving to LCD lately, now that the quality is nearing CRT levels, and the desire for widescreen. I've been trying to decide for weeks now, and I've narrowed it down to either the 226BW 22" Samsung, or the 2407WFP 24" Dell.

The Samsung 226BW 22" is now in stock at OcUK, and it's getting good reviews.

The main difference between 22" and 24" is the native resolution. The 22" monitors are usually 1680x1050, while the 24" are 1920x1200.
The 8800GTX can handle 1920x1200 comfortably so I'm tempted to get the Dell, but if the Samsung looks better, then I'd prefer that (even though it's smaller).

It's a really tough decision! :confused:

Thanks for the info, Just really confusing whats best to get.
I was also looking at those Samsung screens, like the style of them.
could almost get 2 Samsung screens for the price of the 24"

On the excact same boat with you guys.

Samsung 226 vs Dell 24"

The only think that worries me about the dell is the higher res as I dont have cash for SLi 8800GTX

(I plan to buy a 8800GTS if I get the sammy which I think will be fine!)

You won't need sli. one 8800gtx would be more then enough!
