Which Motherboard?

Now i'm a bit stumped here. I'm putting together a build for my Dad, and he's on a budget of £400 including monitor, keyboard and mouse. The way i've worked this out i get about £70 for the motherboard, and i've found these two:

Sapphire PC-AM2RS790GX - AM2+

Asus M4A785TD-V EVO - AM3

Now, they're both within £1 of each other and i don't know which one to pick. The processor will be a Phenom II X2 550, but i'm unsure if the Sapphire board has the ability to unlock the cores. That would be a good selling point for the Asus. But with the AM2+ board i could save on the memory as well, and it has better graphics... anyone have any ideas? Or indeed suggestions of your own? Thanks in advance, i was going to go with the Asus but i just found this when i was searching...

Also, since i have one lying around i'm going to use a Pioneer DVR-116DBK disc drive, which is PATA. Will this be supported? This is the list of hardware:

CPU: Phenom II X2 550 / 545
Memory: Depends on the motherboard
PSU: Antec Basiq 350W
HDD: WD WD5000AAKS Blue 500GB 16MB Cache
Optical Drive: Pioneer DVR-116DBK

No graphics card... so as far as i can tell the Saphire board doesn't have the ability to unlock, but does have better graphics. There's less than 50p between, the two, so anybody got any ideas?

Since the Sapphire board doesn't have ACC, are there actually any AM2+ boards that support it? Although considering that it's highly likely that the unlock would fail, i don't think it's worth buying a different motherboard because of it. Dual Core's are still good, and it should last him for a while.... what do you think?

Only a 770 chipset though, i was looking more at 780/785/790 since the budget won't allow for dedicated graphics. The unlock is more than likely going to be unsuccessful though, so i'm still undecided.
