Which mouse for a Mac?

I've been using a Logitech wireless G7 thingie for a couple of years and it's finally on the way out, it's become very jumpy and unreliable over the previous month or so and today I got fed up with it so I've disconnected it and plugged in an old MS 'Basic Optical Mouse' which is horrible.

I don't want to be going and buying a Mighty Mouse for two reasons - 1) I'm told they're crap and 2) I shall get one when I sort out a Mac Pro later this year.

So internet friends, what mouse should I get? I know this is a pretty general and dumb question but I can break it down with specifics.

I have a large hand. the Logitech G7 fits it nicely, the MS Basic thing doesn't. It needs to be a decent size mouse.

I don't care if it's wireless or wired. I've had wireless mouses for the last x years (with x being a large number) at home and wired at work so I'm happy with either.

It must work properly with OS X, preferably without having to buy any extra software to support it. I did run some software to support the extra buttons on my G7 but it was limited time payware and I removed it once it expired. Can't remember what it was called.

So, suggestions please, what's a good size and works properly with OS X?

(Oh and ideally it'll work with an Icepad, the G7 doesn't).

Ta.

I use a MS IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0a wired, quite a basic mouse, quite large for my hands which i like... 2x Thumb buttons configured for Expose and Spaces.

In System Preferances, Expose & Spaces, I configured Dashboard to Mouse3, All Windows to Mouse4 and Spaces to Mouse5...

In an Apple "it just works" kinda way. :p

Ahh right, I was looking for some kind of mouse control panel type thing..

Would recommend either the mouse Darryn suggested or anything decent from Logitech.

If you want a mouse control panel, check out 'Steermouse'

That Razer looks pretty. Trouble is that I need to get something as soon as possible (my hand is already cramping from the MS thing) so I need to find a shop that actually sells these things over the counter :(

I think the Logitech 518 is coming out ahead in the 'I want' stakes at the moment.

/edit - The MX Revolution that's been mentioned a few times is good, but perhaps a tad too expensive.

Right then, if I walk into a shop tomorrow and they've got both a 518 and an MX, which one should I hand over my hard earned for? It's down to those two I think.

What is crap about the mighty mouse? Got one next to me, swapped it for a G5 and certainly wouldn't want to go back when using a Mac.

Well I see little point in buying one of those when I'll get one when I buy a Mac Pro in a month or two anyway. If I hate it then I'll be stuck with two of them.
