Looking to buy a new mouse but I dont know which to go for. I've had my Logitech MX310 for a few years now and its worked well, but recently the buttons have become unresponsive and its not very sensitive/responsive on my vista pc for some reason.

Have been looking at other Logitechs like the MX400 but the Razor Diamondback 3G looks really nice and is at a similar price. Which should I go for?

Would you say that the G5 is a better quality mouse than a Razer Diamondback 3G then? Its at least a tenner more expensive, is it worth that much extra?

I've just switched from a G7 cordless to a G9, and it is so much better. The shape and feel of it is brilliant, and the choice of grips makes it even better.

I had a go on one of my mates pcs the other day, not sure which model the mouse was but it had a nice grippy feel to it and it seemed to work well. Should I just go for a G5 or are Razer still worth considering? They definitely look cooler :)

Euhm, the G5 only if its the new 2007 edition. the old g5 is bad. the new one is great.

yeap I have the new one and it has the two thumb buttons. Great little mouse and looks very cool.

I know this sounds quite stupid but for me comfort's really important, so try walking into a gaming shop/pc shop where they have mice out and try and get a feel for them.

Cool, do you know if the one overclockers are selling in this weeks sale is the new one?

Do you recommend corded over cordless?

Personally I prefer cordless but my old Logitech mouse (still with a ball lol) is getting a bit slow and 'sticks' sometimes which is a tad annoying when you are trying to point and shoot at someone trying his best to blow your head off :(

Logitech are always great build quality and have really good customer service should you need any spare mouse pads, etc. in the future. :)

+1

Great customer services and good build quality. My mouse feet wore out, sent them an e-mail and they sent me some new mouse feet FREE! :p

Go for the G5, got a G7 and I still think its the best mouse I've had even after a year and a half. The G5 is equally as good but in corded form. And like people have said, their customer support is excellent.

I'm currently hunting for a new mouse and it seems that the G5 has a few fans, so its level top of my list with the Razer Deathadder, can anyone compare the 2?

I have heard that if a Razer mouse needs a firmware upgrade then it needs to be done on a 32bit OS but I am using Vista 64?

I have used Mircosoft Intellimice for years but now want something better for desktop & gaming use :)

Is the G5 still the top choice?

G5 drivers should be fine on 32 bit vista. I've got a G7 (which is technically an older mouse I think) and it runs fine on 64 bit Vista, and anything that works on 64 bit Vista will definitely work on 32 bit.
