Im stuck between choice, im waiting for the january sales to come around and i am wanting an MP3 player. My old Zen Touch has started skipping and i have dropped it that many times i think its on its way out.

Its a choice between the

Creative Zen - 16gb Flash based player
and
Archos 605 WIFI - 30gb Portable PMP

I use my current phone to listen to mp3's and such but i mainy listen to a lot of radio. I wont be putting any films on the player most probably family guy eps, angry kid etc short episodes. rest will be music.

What would be the better choice?

If you're Monsieur Butter Fingers, then I suggest a flash player :)
20-30min shows like Family guy, Simpsons etc don't take up much space when converted to play on a pmp so a 16gb flash player would be big enough imo.... Depending on how much music you have of course.

I have 9 gigs of music, so i can get an SD card for about £35 now that will fit most of that on it, the player itself will most likely have the episodes on it, or the other way around as my music collection grows rapidly.

How about a Cowon D2?

Get the 8gb and use 8gb SD cards in it. Plus there are DAB models available now.

My dad has the 4gb version (without DAB) and to be honest i dont use DAB, plus the price is a bit high for 4gb's considering i can get the 8gb Zen £40 cheaper than the 4gb D2.

not a fault though the D2 is an exceptional player, just a little to overpriced.

D2. Don't get me wrong, I love Creative and I had a nomad zen for 4 years. But the D2 just seems to have the edge with the little things.

Aye it does, sound quality is bar non the best, but over £200 for 8gb when the 8gb Zen is £100, its a bit overpriced.
