I've finally decided to get myself an mp3 player but have no idea which one to go for. Budget is up to £200 and I'll like it to store a fair amount of songs. Not keen on the sony range as I really can't stand their software.

You can get the superb, ipod-beating Creative Zen Vision M 60GB model for £160 and free delivery at the moment if you know where to look ;)

Im also after an pm3 player,

can anyone confirm if the Creative Zen Vision and other creative models allow you to drag and drop music onto them without using some silly software?

What about the Microsoft Zune? can music be dragged onto this easy too?

Basically like the op I dont want to be using some silly software like itunes or sonicstage.

Any other 20gb+ capacity players I can just drag and drop music onto?

Do you have to use their software?

Cowon look nice but expensive

Is the M5 20Gb any good at £85?

Not sure about the M5, but a mate of mine owned the X5 and it was a reallynice piece of kit. I think there is an updated X5L, which supports more music formats. I own a Cowon A2 and I love it, I'm just eagerly awaiting the Cowon Q5, can't wait! A touchscreen PMP:

I think some of their new flash players have finally ditched sonicstage but I think thier hdd players are still tied to it.

Anyway Creative Zen Vision M 60GB is deffo the best choice, no question, only reason not to go for it imo is if you need OGG or FLAC support.

I got a Cowon M5 20Gb for £53 off an auction site earlier, hope its good now when it turns up, seems a pretty good price and they say its brand new.
