Hi all,

I dont know much about mp3 players, but since the cd carridge broke on my car, I have ordered an AUX in kit to enable me to connect exterior music players.

This will only be used in the car, so big capacity with no screen or extra functions is prefered, however, looking at some mp3 players, the larger capacity ones all seen to have screens and other unnessesary functions, can anyone reccomend something with decent storage but without paying for extra features?

Thanks

What is the kit exactly? Does it take audio through the MP3 player's audio jack, or does it grab the MP3's off the device through USB and play them? If it's the latter, I'd suggest an external HDD or something. Probably a bit larger than your typical MP3 player, but it'll have more storage and be cheaper.

If that works anyway, I don't know :p I don't see why it shouldn't.

Hi,

The kit gives me an audio line-in via RCA/3.5mm headphone jack - it works by 'spoofing' the the head unit into thinking its a CD changer, and attaches to the stereo via a DIN type socket.

Thanks.

edit: actually something with a screen might be an idea, the unit should enable me to have some navigation through the cars standard stereo, but im not sure how well it will work.

If it goes through the 3.5mm jack then yes, I'd get something with a screen (well, you can't NOT get a screen :p), because the track changing will probably come from the MP3 player itself. I imagine the stereo may have some limited control, like an inline control on a pair of headphones, but nothing more.
