I've been using Mercury on my Intel MBP but it has a few problems; only some people's display pictures show (but others all show fine on WLM on windows) and Mercury occasionally hangs/crashes when a contact opens a new conversation or when I sign-in and someone had left me an offline-IM.

So I'm on the hunt for a better MSN program than mercury, I found Adium but I don't think that'll work with my built-in iSight camera :(

Any ideas appreciated.

Pidgin?

Until the new MSN Messenger comes out (same time as Office 2008) then you're stuck with limited to no support for the iSight :(

I don't really use it (because I like MSN & Adium) but the only real choice is aMSN.

Adium and the Official MSN Messenger for Mac are my shoutouts, but they don't have the iSight support that you want I am afraid - aMSN is the port of call for that!

...or convince your friends to get an AOL account and iChat it up with them!

I wish my mates used Skype.. sadly, only one of them does so I never got in to Skype :(

Try convincing them to get it is like kicking a wall; they can't see past MSN.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll try aMSN once I get home (currently @ school & the MSN ports are blocked).

A few of my friends got into Skype, fortunately the main person I chat with, but since I showed her the call-computer function in msn they gave up skype!

Mercury is fine - just get the latest beta rather than the official version. The older version has been knocking around for donkeys and doesn't support the new Live client display pics etc. The current betas do, and I don't have any issues. :)

I've removed the old version of Mercury and installed Mercury1.9RC9 and aMSN. So far I'm preferring mercury, but yesterday it wouldn't let me accept someone's web-cam invite, but worked fine when I sent the invite:confused:

In simple terms, what should I be using MSNP11 / 13 /14 ?
