I recently bought a HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One jobby and to begin with I was very pleased with the results I was getting.
Unfortunately, that pleasure was soon dispersed by the fact that in the last month, i've had to buy 4 sets of ink cartidges as it simply drinks ink.
This last cartridge has seen off 15 full colour A4 prints and now it's running out.

I use my printer for printing photos and text documents and I already have an Epson Photo printer, so the photo printing side doesn't have to be fantastic, just acceptable.

Does anybody have a reccomendation for a printer around the £120 mark that fits my criteria - Good ink economy, reasonable colour image printing, possibly a scanner too if it'll fit in my budget.

Thanks guys.

Dont waste money printing out full colour pictures - as you have already discovered it drinks ink, take your pics on CD or memory stick to Boots or similar
& get them printed for a fraction of the cost. There are machines that do it while you wait
If you do buy another then beware of Epsom as they are prone to nozzle problems

That printer takes the 339black & 343colour, have you tried having these refilled. I work in one of the may printer cartridge refill shops, and these are 2 of our more popular cartridges. If you go to the more know places, the inks are of high quality, and it doesn't void the warranty of the printer (which is what some rhumers do say normally these stem from the printer manufactures)

I second the separates route, all in one's tend to be not great at anything, as is usually the case when building such items to a resonable price point.

i bought a brother dcp-315cn (you can get other models but this one is a network printer) was bought for about £70. VERY nice printer, easy to set up, works well with linux AND i bought a black cart and all colours (they are seperate) for £7 inc delivery :D for all of them :D

very cheap to run, not the fastest but it does the job nicely. the scanner is very good too, and the copy functions are all useful. also reads memory cards. if you want to know where to get the carts from, my email is in trust.
