Swear by synology even if they are at a premium - the only problem with NAS (in general) is , never ever think you have too many "spare" drive bays - once you have a nas, your media storage goes through the roof.
I now have about 25TB of 52TB used in a 8 bay NAS (mostly 4k Br's admittedly) , would never have thought even 5 years ago I would ever need that much space
