Hey, im currently in College studying IT. Most of my work involves all the office programs and notepad for web design. So not exactly high demand software.

I did have my heart set on the 901 but that seems to be aimed more at "internet surfers" because i went into a shop today and looked at the 901 and the keyboard was TINY. They also had a 904HD i think it was which had a bigger keyboard with a double height enter key.

I need good battery life and wireless N preferably. I do like the look of the Asus 1000 but the enter key seems to be only a single height...

There's also the MSI wind? Eergh so many choices.

Basically the laptop must be light, small, preferably Wireless N, good battery is a must 5+ hours and i also want it to be running on Linux but with the choice to later duel boot it with XP.

Any options? Sorry if this has been repeated lots of times before on "Official Asus EEE PC Thread" but im in need of a quick answer as im buying tonight and dont have time to read through 40 pages of a thread. :p
Cheers.

Wireless N is only available by spec on the 901/1000.......
Battery life of 5+ hours is only available on spec on the 901/1000......

These 2 factors alone were sufficient to tip the balance to a 901 for me (20GB one, which I have since thrown XP Pro and Office 2007 on)

The 1000 is a little more like a regular laptop in size, so pros and cons there......I must confess to getting used to the 901 keyboard pretty quickly :)

The 901 weighs in @ circa. 1.1kg, the 1000 @ 1.45kg I believe.....starting to lose that outright portability ?.......could always have a USB keyboard for those more involving sessions ?

The Wind(Advent 4211) is, by all accounts, a nice machine, but no Wireless 'N', 2hrs or so battery (unless you buy a 6-cell, when available ?) and extra weight again......

The 904HD uses a Celeron chip I believe, and is it not the model with a 8.9" screen in a 10"-style chassis ? Would aim for 901 or 1000 personally......

Thank you, that post is very helpful! ;)

Also thanks others, may hang on for other's to come.
