I've been thinking of giving my 939 rig a bit of a boost while I gain some cash to make a full overhaul upgrade (so I'm dropping in an X2 3800 and another gig of RAM) and I'm not sure of the graphics card.

I'm gaming at 1920x1200 and so a 512mb is a must, at least. I'm not sure whether to get a HD3850/70 or a GT. Which is better for a simple stopgap upgrade?

I'm not bothered about the price really - but don't want to fork out too much (as I wish to wait until the 9800s etc are out - and when I can afford a proper upgrade) however, I would like to play the current games at a decent setting, as my little ol' 256mb x1800xt is feeling the strain of gaming at such a high res.

Also, will my PurePower Thermaltake 680W be enough? (I'm also going to be adding a soundcard in there) If can get buy without needing to change the PSU, then great.

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm personally not bothered really by Crysis - sure, it'd be nice to play but I can't justify spending extra money just for Crysis. And over £100 at that.

EDIT: Decided to go for GT (the 512mb OcUK one) - the PSU has 3 12v+ rails and pulls 15A over two and 8A over the other one. I guess I can just use the two 15A ones?
