If you're feeling frivolous you could get a 7970 for £50 extra.
I came from 2x6950's to a 7970 and saw a nice boost and overall improvement in smoothness not to mention lower temps, lower power usage and superior overclock performance.

I agree. A 7950 (assuming you're going to overclock) is the best option for your price bracket.

Yeah its a 2500k
7950 is the best suggestion tbh unless you specifically want a nvidia card in which case grab a 670 but they're more expensive than a 7970.
If you want to be extra cool you could buy a 7970 i suppose.
