So I have to buy a new computer as my current one is pretty much dead.
Most people seem to think a Core 2 Duo is the best option at the moment but there's little difference between say an E6600 and an X2 6000+ when you look at the benches over at Tom's hardware.
Someone said that Intel are planning on switching over to DDR3 by the end of the year, which means if i move to that platform now it'll be no good for upgrades in little more than six months, whereas AMD's next lot of chips are supposed to work on the current AM2 socket and will be sticking with DDR2 til this time next year...my main problem really is not knowing how accurate any of this info is...
Looking for opinions!
