I have got a razer goliathus speed mat that i had for my deathadder which felt nice to move across. I got my logitech G500 today and the mouse is putting up a lot of resistance to the mouse feet. Maybe its due to the deathadder having teflon feet were as the logitech G500 has different type of feet. Im after a mouse mat between 10 to 15 pound that will give me a smooth glide. Can anyone tell me if i am a high medium or low sensitivity gamer. I use 900 dpi for gaming?

Seems effortless to me. Plus it's quite cheap and the whole of the other side of the surface is like this really course rubber so it doesn't budget at all on my desktop.

I've been wanting the Razer Vespula for a while because of it's gel wrist rest. I currently have a plain old Belkin with wrist rest, but want something a bit more accurate/gamer like as this one has started to make the mouse shakey when you're trying to do small movements :/

Gel wrist rest is a must for me

I dont know what it is. But when i aim from a distance on FPS games with my G500 small movements are hard to do unlike my deathadder and 12 year old MS optical mouse.

Then you need a hard pad, cloth pads usually cause friction and thus small accurate movements are hard to pull off.

Something like the steelseries s&s or razer exactmat will be perfect. I've owned these pads so I can vouch for them, being a low sensitivity gamer.

For the ultimate "gliding on air" feel, then an icemat is unbeatable afaik

i have the vespula, and its a good mouse mat.
i used to have the eXactmat with gel wrist, and this is defiantlly a step up.

also having 2 different surfaces to use is a bonus

I think its the weight of the mouse. Im going to return it to OCUK and Get a razer deathadder respawn. I didnt want to have to pay 42 pound for one. But its the best mouse ive used by a mile.

I probably wouldn't use both the surfaces myself, but do like the size of it and the gel wrist rest, the only thing that's put me off slightly is the price.

I'm surprised there aren't any SteelSeries mats with gel wrist rest, I couldn't find any on their site any way.

Really need something to replace this cloth Belkin mat as I can really feel it wearing out now.

I use a Steelseries mini Qck, this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GS-011-ST&groupid=702&catid=32&subcat=

and it's an excellent cloth mat. Very thin as well at 2mm, excellent glide. My frag rate has increased.:p I'm considering buying the 320mm x 270mm Qck now since I bought the mini for my old desk, but now I have a new one with loads of space. If you want a hard mat and don't mind spending a bit, Steelseries SX is highly recommended for precision. The Icemat would be good too as you have a laser mouse, since apparently it doesn't track as well as they say with optical mice. Problem with hardmats like the SX is that they make a noise whereas cloth is almost silent, and you don't really wear out feet with cloth.

As far as low, med or high sens player, you can tell that by how many cm you move to make a 360 turn. In quakelive, with my MX518, I do a 360 in about 7 to 8 inches and my sens is 2.8 on 1800dpi, so I guess I'm a medium sens player. The very low sens players make big sweeping moves across their mousemat and basically need larger pads to do this.

Am i able to return my logitech G500 for a full refund? I got it yesterday its new condition just the feet have dirt which is to be expected. Box and everything are fine and perfect.
