I know im never going to be in a position to make this decision

but browsing the pistonheads for sale forums, there seems to be a multitude of mustang tuners. Roush / Saleen / Shelby / ASC etc.. etc.. the list goes on.

American car experts, which is the one to have ?

Roush or Saleen here too.

They have differences though. i cant remember what but Gibbo made some very persuasive arguments for both tuning houses.

Some of the shelbies look nice though, although not the ones which are over the top Gone in 60 Seconds cash ins.

for those wondering why, ive been watching too many american movies this week. Ive seen Transformers with the Saleen SC271 and then I am Legend with the Shelby GT500.

Really want a mustang :p

Roush. Apparently they put a bit more thought into things other than the engine.

Jeremy Clarkson did an interesting comparison of European vs. American cars and the Mustang was placed in the firing line at one point. The Shelby is good - massive power, etc. - but the Roush was better as although it was slightly down on power (a lowly 450bhp or something as opposed to the Shelby's 500-odd), it had reworked suspension which made it quicker round the track used for testing.

Never had/driven one, but they all look awesome.

I was considering getting a Roush when my lucks on getting a classic almost caved in.
Bloody nice cars though, too big for Jersey me thinks.

So I got a '67 classic instead!

Saleen 281 - seriously tempting motor. Or perhaps even the Bullitt movie cash in:-

yes it is.

Its an obviously poor attempt at making an 08 mustang look like the mustang in gone in 60 seconds

But there completely different cars so it doesnt work.

Plus it will probably still have the crap suspension. At least Roush / Saleen tune those too.

Each to their own I guess I still think it looks fantastic, other ones I find look at bit more 'boring'.

The side profile I think looks brilliant:

Also it is tuned properly with better suspension etc, this is the spec:

My problem with that thing is that although it does look impressive it just doesn't look like a Mustang should. If you look at the original mustang the Cervinis thing is just way off the mark. It looks like a transformer. Which isn't necessarily bad, but its just not Mustang material.

Roush, it's the only way.
Stock mustangs, like all muscles cars, will not corner for biscuits, roush ones, you haven't the first impression on how well they drive, the sound is enough to make you jizz in your pants.
I'm seriously considering one to downsize the size on my finance. Less practical than an M5 but faster and you could masterbate over pictures of it.
