Which "non fibre area" ISP?

We are shortly to move to a new build, but a bit of surfing has proven we are not in a "fibre area". This precludes cable broadband and also ADSL "superfast" suppliers like PlusNet FIBRE. So, it looks like we are stuck with good old ADSL.

Question: I've heard Be and/or (their affiliates) O2 possibly offer the best ADSL speeds on average. I really have no qualms on price, not a factor. I just want the FASTEST and the most RELIABLE CONNECTION I can get.

Any ideas?

Just had the exact same problem, I went with BT, had a load of issues for the first 3 weeks but after getting a faulty part swapped out at the exchange I'm getting around 15mbs, still pants compared to my old 50mb fibre but you kind of get used to it in a nothing you can do about it kind of way

What a useless site. It says that my local exchange is "Accepting Orders (contact a communication provider to get superfast fibre broadband)". That's only part true. The exchange has been upgraded, but most of the cabinets haven't. Openreach promised FTTC to both my home and office by the end of September 2011, then it slipped to December 2011, then March 2012 and now June 2012.

I'd rather BT Outreach spent their money on actually rolling out FTTC rather than setting up self-congratulatory websites boasting what a great job they're doing.

Just looked on that site and it says June 2012 for my town! Other week it said TBA, So 2 months to wait! Can't wait!
