Just thought I'd ask the knowledgeable folks on here as I'm now horribly out of the loop with hardware.

I'm thinking of buying one of the prebuilt systems from OcUK as I can't be bothered to build one any more. I'd like a system that is good at playing games to a good quality (1920x1020), and is reasonable at encoding videos. Will an i3 do the trick? Or should I push for i5. Also I've no idea what graphics card would be reasonable in a mid budget price range. There are just so many of the ocuk prebuilts to choose from.

And I'd quite like watercooling, or at least the h2o cpu watercooler..

Hi platypus,

You will find all of our overclocked systems feature either a H50 or H70 watercooler, we do sell a few "custom" watercooled setups but they tend to be £1000 upwards.

An i3 system would fit the bill well paired with a GTX 470 or ATI 6870. Prehaps the Titan Xenomorph (nvidia) or Titan Predator (ATI) would be suited for your price range. Both come equipped with H50 CPU watercoolers but also there is a "H2O" version of each system.

An i5 system will give you more performance multitasking and will increase gaming performance. However it all depends on your budget.

As I said earlier a GTX 470 or ATI 6870 would be an excellent GFX card to choose regardless of what system you end up getting.

Thanks for your post Nath. Decided to go for the Exodus as its on this week only at present, and went for a cheaper graphics card as I can upgrade that at a later date :).

Definitely wanted an i5 over an i3, by all accounts this is a fine machine.

Sweet, good choice! i5 can certainly pull its weight and you won't be dissappointed.
