Hi

Amazingly I've been given the chance to upgrade the RAM in my works Dell Dimension 4600, so I did a quick check on a certain ram manufacturer's website which gave me the following info:

"2GB kit (1GBx2), 184-pin DIMM, DDR PC3200 memory module
£69.99 ex. VAT
£82.24 inc. VAT*

Module Size: 2GB kit (1GBx2)
Package: 184-pin DIMM
Feature: DDR PC3200
Specs: DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR400 • 2.6V • 128Meg x 64"

I'm having problems finding the correct RAM to buy from OCUK, I need 2x1gb and any cheap stuff should do the trick. If there's any money left in the pot I might be able to persuade them to get me a decent graphics card....;)

Thanks for any help, I need to take advantage while the offer's still on!!!

Hmm...dont dells & hps etc use different memory? I have always struggled to get generic memory to work in them. It seems a bit hit & miss. I usually had to buy memory that was specifically for the model I was trying to upgrade. Obviously at a greater cost than the generic stuff unfortuantly.

I once put some cheapo generic RAM in a dell 4500 Dimension and it borked the Mobo, it was really nasty RAM though.
