Which oculus

Native Quest games are arguably not as good as their PC counterparts however some are said to be better, eg Beat Saber, Arizona Sunshine. However with Quest you can use Oculus link or Virtual Desktop to play PC VR games onto the Quest which are then as good as the spec of your PC can deliver. So you kind of get best of both worlds.

I like the fact it does double duty. The standalone games are surprisingly OK (better than my expectation at least) and knowing you can now hook it up to the PC to open up more graphical quality and slightly richer games makes it a sound first VR headset.

My son has asked for one as he borrows one of my Samsung Odyssey's for playing some games but wants to try the wireless aspect of it. I wasn't going to bother but since it can be hooked up to a PC I might actually get one for his Birthday and sell the Odyssey on (I have a second one for Sim Racing).

Whatever suits your situation is probably best. My PC room is not big enough to fully utilise VR unless I just do sit down games so being able to take it into the lounge even go outside or in the garage and not have to worry about boundaries too much is a massive plus for me when playing Quest and PC VR games.
