Which of these 2 cases do I go for?

Good morning everybody!

I'm doing my law exams at the moment, and revising most of the time, but any free time is spent agonising over a new case :D My old one is a bit of a cheapo, and although I'm proud of my DIY fan grill mod, I'd like something a bit higher quality.

I'm completely unable to make up my mind between:

Lian Li A07
Lian Li PC-7 F

I think I might like the A07 a bit more because of the clean front face, no fan hole etc (which may help eliminate the fan noise?) My PSU is the loudest component though.

But in all, I'm looking for a clean, black, quiet case that'll keep my OC 6850 reasonably cool (currently idles at 42, load at 63), so I'm open to suggestions. Oh yeah, and no more than £80 :)

Owners of either, any and all good/bad points about your case welcome!

Just get normal PC-7 and you if you shop around i think you can get around £60

Do you mean the PC-7 B Plus II? Apparently it's only got an 80mm front fan = noisier

Are all these suggestions personal aesthetic preferences, or actual experience with them?

I'm just concerned with the orientation of the HDD bay on the A07 because it's perpendicular to the air flow from the front fan. Would it make much of a difference? Could I change the HDD bay orientation you reckon?

And thanks for the suggestions, keep them comin' in! :D

PC-7F as its sporting the new lian-lines :)

ho ho I like what you did there :D

But I think I might agree. I think I'm coming round to the PC-7F, even though the Coolermaster Sileo 500 came into the running too (love the looks and the fact that it's supposed to be very quiet). But quality-wise, it doesn't look like you can beat the Lian Li

I was trying to choose between these 2 a while back too, ended up going for the A07B as I thought it gave a bit more room for all internal watercooling and modding. And like you say, the solid front helps keep fan noise down quite a bit, but I cant help but think it must be hindering air flow at the same time lol.

Anyway, I went A07 and Im pleased, dont regret it one bit. Click my sig for a sort of build log... its a bit random really lol. But yea, its a great case, I love it :)

Well I went to a shop near Tottenham Court Road today and had a look at the PC-7F, and it's bigger than I expected for some reason! And to be honest, I don't think I like the look of it as much as I thought. Def preferring the A07.

My main problem is that the PC-7F has space for 4 HDDs which I will soon have (only 2 atm). The A07 has 3 spaces.

Can you slot an extra HDD into the one of the 3.5inch bays do you think? Or into a 5.25inch bay without having to pay through the nose (i.e. £30 for a proper Lian Li HDD bay)?

I can confirm they fit fine in the 3.5" bay. It even suggests it in the little instruction book you get with the case :) I originally only had 1 HDD so removed the HDD cage to make more room for my water cooling pump/res etc. It was particularly noisy from what I remember, but probably a bit more than soft mounting .

Ah that's good! I was hoping I could put a drive in there. But I've decided not to put in 2x1tb hdd in raid and put one internal and have one extrenal as a back up instead, so I only need 3 spaces. I'm going to order one of these bad boys (A07) when they next come in stock :D

Do you reckon they'll go down in price by the end of July?
