I am trying to decide which of the following 3 sff cases is the best for me:
- Silverstone sg10
- Lian-li pc-v355
- Bitfenix Phenom matx

Personally, I like the lian-li but none of the above is perfect:
- with the sg10 i will need to buy a new optical drive slot loading which costs aroud 60€.
- with the 355 i will probably have to change my cooler (nh-u12p).
- with the Phenom i will just forget of the optical drive.

my case now is a obsidian 550d so noise is also an important factor.

components:
i5-3570k
7979 dc2 top
2x ssd & 1 hdd

i do need it, since i use the cd for playing music in car

Okay thats the answer i needed. :D

Two options:

1) Buying a slim optical drive

+
  • PC performance stays the same

-
  • Slower read/write on CD's
  • Costs around £50

YOUR BASKET
1 x OcUK Slimline Slot Loading 4x BluRay-ROM / 8x DVD-RW Drive - OEM £39.95
1 x Silverstone SST-CP10 Slimline SATA to SATA Adapter £5.99
Total : £48.91 (includes shipping : £2.48).

2) New CPU cooler (to fit V355)

+
  • Could cost a little less (£35-£45)
  • Can be Silent
  • resale value of your cooler

-
  • Higher temps
  • No overclocking

Options:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Thermalright AXP-100 ITX & HTPC CPU Cooler £39.95
1 x Noctua NH-L9i CPU Cooler Low Profile - 92mm £34.99
Total : £84.84 (includes shipping : £8.25).

The Sugo will have better airflow but the Lian Li may have better noise reduction.

Your temps will be better in the Sugo (with your current cooler) but the Low prfile cooler will be quietier and hotter..

I don't know which id personally go for, though i hope this has helped.

So basically.

Prodigy M

+
  • Can fit your cooler in
  • Enough space for drives

-
  • Pre-order

V355

+
  • Can hold all your storage drives
  • more compact

-
  • will have to buy new cooler
  • a little more expensive.

My choice would be the prodigy M if you likethe look of it.

I am 'head-over-heels' in love with the ft03 and would 100% have one in a flash if i had a slot-in drive..

It will easily take your cooler and other bits and be pretty darn quiet in the process..

The build quality of silverstone's are immense. My TJ08-E is suberb and thats a simple £80 case.. The FT03 is a step above..

100% would be my choice, but i may just be love struck!

Right now I am torn between the Lian-Li PC-V355 and the Xigmatek Gigas.
I like the looks of both of them but I am bit afraid of the Aluminum.
I used to have a HAF ATCS 840 and hated its noise and the vibrations. The Obsidian is really quiet compared to that.
I am also afraid of the fact that the case will be placed on the desk and the noise might be closer to me.
