Looking for the best possible 24" gaming monitor and I've narrowed it down to the following as they seem to have the best trade off between image quality (both IPS) and response time, now the only question is which :D?

-Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor

-HP LP2475w 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Have to say I prefer the design of the dell, is there any reason why I should get the HP over it? (I don't really have much idea when it comes to the specs)

Also are there any other gaming monitors I should consider? I have only looked on ocuk so far but I really want to be sure I'm getting the best.

Thanks :)

As far as I can see they use almost identical LG IPS panels so I'm not sure why the specifications show quite such big differences; probably more to do with the different marketing departments than technical specifications! So it's really down to things like the design, connectivity and firmware. There's a big thread in this forum with quite a few people reporting problems with the U2410, so right now the HP looks like a better option to me.

Ok thanks, I went for the HP

Hope you get sorted today, would complain to ocuk for that looking forward to your thoughts on this as I am after one or the samsung as the dell seems to have so many problems.

Got it today. No clue which model it is but everything seems flawless so far. Coming from a 2ms I can't say I've noticed any ghosting in games, and the picture and build quality is everything I expected. The only reason I can see not to go for it is there are some new NECs arriving at the start of 2010, but they would have to be pretty special to top this.

I believe the new NEC's are sub 24", and the larger ones are "proper" professional monitors (read: very expensive), so I wouldn't worry about that.

Glad your HP works great :D
