Which of these would you go for?

Hi guys,

Been a lurker on these forums for some time - often reading some good advice.
I'm looking at buying a new laptop for gaming. I build my own gaming desktops but I travel a lot, so need something to upgrade my current Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming.

Have done a fair bit of research and am down to a shortlist - looking to order one within the next few days.

Ideally I would like a Ryzen 7 cpu and an RTX 2060. Having read some other threads on here I understand waiting may be beneficial for newer releases - but I'm wanting to order now.


- HP OMEN 15: INTEL I7-9750H, RTX 2060, 240HZ

- Asus ROG Zephyrus G15: AMD Ryzen 7-4800HS, GTX 1660Ti, 144HZ

- Gigabyte Aero 15: i7-9750H, GTX 1660T, 4K OLED


The SSD's and RAM I'm not worried about as these will be easily replaceable over time.
What I'm most concerned about is screen quality, build quality, manufacturers reputation and previous experiences anyone might have had?

The HP Omen I'm not very keen on the design, but the spec is good.

The Asus has the AMD Ryzen 7 as its main selling point to me.

The Gigabyte Aero's selling point is the 4K OLED screen - possibly worth sacrificing some spec for what appears to be a nice design with a great screen.

Any feedback appreciated. I'm sure all would meet my gaming and work needs from the system - but before I pull the trigger, just hoped for some input from the people on here who know their stuff!

I'd wait for the forthcoming HP Omen with the Ryzen 4800, and see how that reviews versus the Zephyrus G14.

Both are listed for sale on sites so *ought* to be released soon, although I don't think anything is fixed yet

I'd suggest the G15 if pretty much just for gaming or the AERO if photo/video editing. That's purely based on the displays with each.

In AAA games unless you really dial down the graphics options the super high refresh rates are pointless even with the RTX 2080.

I would stick to 1080p screen res on a laptop. Going 4k will likely run slower FPS and not get near the screen refresh rate.
