I have been looking at these motherboards recently, and I cant decide what to go for. Gigabyte UD7, Asus Rampage III Extreme or Asus Rampage III Gene. I will be using an i7 930 with one of these motherboards in an Antec 1200 with a H50-1. Which would be the best for me if I wanted overclock my i7 to 4ghz+? Or if there is any other motherboards you recommend, please do :)

Thanks.

Save yourself some money, if u don't need the features those mobo's offer.

The below mobo will comfortably overclock for fun and costs half the money of the 3 u mentioned.

And as you will be using the H50, any clock u do will be limited by that and not the mobo.

So you know what the below can do with the right cooling, iv had my I7 upto 4.6ghz but this was under custom water cooling. So unless you really want, or need the features of the ones u listed, i would really consider the below one in all honesty, worth a thought at least.

Thanks a lot! I think I might just get this instead! Is there any cooling in particular that would would recommend so I'm not limited with the h50?

Coolers that will beat the H50 i'll list below, all will need 2 fans in push/pull for best performance.

Now that being said the H50 is'nt bad at all, just there are air coolers that will beat it, but they can be big, so u have to check if they fit inside the case you use.

You will still be able to hit 4/4.2ghz with the H50 just the temps may not be that low, and can be bettered by the above coolers.

What i would suggest is keep and use the H50, get 2 decent pwm fans and use them with it, then and only then change coolers if needed.
