Hey Guys,

I dont know which out of the two monitors I should go for:

Dell UltraSharp U2413 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor
(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-068-DE&groupid=17&catid=510)

or

Iiyama Prolite XB2779QS-S 27" AH-IPS Professional Widescreen LED Monitor
(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-109-IY&groupid=17&catid=1120)

I'm debating over the two... the monitor will be used for gaming, web programming and watching blueray... could do with some advice as I'm torn over the two.

Okay, I get understand where you're coming from, still I could only give you my opinion, it's a shame no-one else can be bothered to give you there's.

I'd go for the Dell from your list.

I've been researching this exact monitor myself actually. I'm also torn between two monitors as well. It supports 1:1 pixel mapping which it's specs never seems to state which is obviously useful to know. Since it's 16:10 I wondered about this, because the PS3 is limited to 16:9.

I'd actually recommend the BenQ XL2420T, possibly.

Since it's a gaming monitor, you'd benefit from the features it has like 120hz/144hz. It's flicker free so as a programmer staring at text should be less of a pain for long periods. It's high refresh rate will make scrolling through code really smooth. It's something I've looked into since I suffer from eyestrain a lot, it's very tempting. It's a TN panel which is a shame though so expect trade offs like poor viewing angles and colours.

Overclockers has it albeit for a higher price than other places: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-088-BQ&groupid=17&catid=510

I require colour accuracy for Photoshop, so out of those two I'm probably edging towards the Dell, if not for the stories about backlight bleeding issues I'd probably have bought it already.

Id buy the Dell, I have a colour accurate Asus pro-art monitor which is similar and the colours are just amazing.

The panel quality should blow you away on that Dell, I wouldnt buy a larger monitor over that one unless it had a similar panel ;)

Actually just checked as something was niggling, I'm not sure what you mean by higher def. for the Dell as it's 24" 1920x1200 as opposed to the Iiyama's 27" 2560x1440 which would mean that the Dell has a larger pixels and hence a lower PPI count. The Dell is of course 16:10 as opposed to the Iiyama which is 16:9. If you mean the Dell may be better for watching bluerays then perhaps someone with a 2560x1440 monitor could throw in their opinion to the mix to help you decide.
