I have an Intel Quad 9550 cpu but a ****ty custom mobo

Can someone recommend me a good mobo that will run my 9550 AND also let me use my Akasa AK-975CU CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775).

I've never had to move mobo's before but I want to OC my 9550 up to about 3.5 or 3.6 on air.

How easy is it to move mobo's and what's a good guide to follow for moving mobo's? Anyone got a good "idiots guide" I can follow?

What should I be looking for in a new mobo? What software do I need to install on it if any or does it come with the bios already setup???

Almost ashamed asking these noob questions :o

You need a decent P45 chipset mobo for clocking 45nm quads. Gigabyte would be my personal choice but the Asus P5Q Pro series are decent as well.

As for changing boards, just follow the opposite of what you do to remove the old one. Reformat the hdd and re-install Windows is always a good idea as well. Software wise you need all the relevant drivers to make everything work properly. Overclocking id done in the bios. Have a read of the sticky at the top of the page in the overclocking section.

I game a fair bit so I'll scrap the one I posted. Do you own that one you mentioned??? Anyone else got a recommendation?
