A bit of advice please.

I built my PC just over a year ago and am considering upgrading my GPU, as I get the odd slow down when playing CD4 and HL2 Episode 2 - & the price of the 8800GTX is rather appealing - the question is, am i wasting my money as I only game @ 1440 X 900....

I play a few games regularly:

CSS
COD4
UT3
BF2
1942
Half Life1, 2 and add ons

My current specs are:

c2D 6300
BFG 7900GS
Gigabyte 965p DS3 (rev1.0)
2 gig Geil 6400
3 X HDD's - (Seagate 500gig 32M) (Seagate 250 gig 16M) & (hitatchi 160gig)
Corsair 620HX
others odds and sods.

The question is - should I bother upgrading and if so, do I go for the g92 GTS or the G80 GTX?????

Many thanks

Just checked out my cooler master 631 mystique case and I only have 26.75 cm between the hard drive enclosure and the expansion slot screws. The spec on the 8800gtx sais 27.5 so i think i am out of luck, anyone know the length of the g92 GTS cards, would one of the these be ok for my system:

c2D 6300
BFG 7900GS
Gigabyte 965p DS3 (rev1.0)
2 gig Geil 6400
3 X HDD's - (Seagate 500gig 32M) (Seagate 250 gig 16M) & (hitatchi 160gig)
Corsair 620HX
others odds and sods.
Samsung 19" widescreen 1440 X900

Many thanks

Thanks all - A G92 8800 GTS is the card - now which manufacturer!!! I like BFG because of their warranty and the small over clock, aside from that is there any difference between the manufacturers, does any particular one use better components, quieter fans etc. The PNY seems like a good price.... is it any good though....

They're all essentially the same card. Some may have higher clocks than others, but it's not really worth paying for. Just go for the cheapest one. I bought myself the Gigabyte one that was going cheap on here last week and it's blisteringly quick, which is impressive considering my previous card (1900XT) wasn't a slouch either.
