Hi,

I currently have Coolermaster ATCS 840 and while its good with space and expansion slots, its build quality is nothing great and noise is down because of running low the fans and installing some foam on the side panels. Furthermore I was looking of something a bit smaller.

I have been looking for a new case with some things in my mind:
1) Noise
2) Good looks quality and ergonomics on the long run (no vibrations after 6 months)
3) Easy installation

What do u think of these:
1) Corsair Obsidian 550D
2) Antec P280

Anything else to suggest?

thx

Both are good. I'd say the Fractal R3 is more on par with the Corsair, which are both slightly above the Antec.

So kind of
R3=550D > P280

The P280 has some advantages in that it does take XL-ATX motherboards, but that's about it.

The other cases are generally the better case.

The Corsair will probably be better build quality than the Fractal, but I have heard issues with both the 650D and 600T on the Corsair's, 6 months on, so who knows. On the other hand Fractal have some issues occasionally. That said, I reckon they're both solid and capable cases, and are better quality than the others.

So yeah, 550D or R3. If you want something a bit bigger, then I'd look at the P280 or the Fractal Define Design XL.

550D... I have a 650D and love it, i find the build quality on all corsair stuff is pretty high although as king damager said some of the early 650d's and 600t's had some issues with the fans but I think they sorted that :)

I have a ATCS840 and a P280 and a Shinobi XL

The P280 is indeed a fantastic case, very quiet, solid construction and lots of space.

Stulid - if you don't mind me asking, which do you prefer, the P280 or the BitFenix case? What fans are you running the in P280 and is it quiet?

Apologies for the thread hijack!
