Which one would you buy?

I have 2 possible choices for buying a new computer.

Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz
6GB RAM @ 1600 Mhz
GTX 480
500GB Hard drive
£635

vs

Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz processor.
6GB RAM @ 1333Mhz
1.5TB Hard Drive
2x 1GB Radeon HD 5870
£665

The main issue here is the graphics card..i have no idea if 2 5870's will outperform a single GTX 480..I don't really care that much for hard drive space.

Okay...my choices have changed..still have a 920 in one of them though.

How about the choice between these two..

Is there a i5 2500K option? so you can get an even faster card as it cheaper but almost as a fast as the 2600K

The i7 is better

More ram, the dual 5770s would be more powerful than single 6870, but will cause more heat and problems.

Also 6870 gives option to upgrade to CF in future.

And much better processor.

Personally I would concider a I5 2500k build unless your major into your video editing.

id be going sandybridge, as you are hovering around the £650 price point and presuming you want it for gaming id go 2500k and get a faster single gpu as above

however if its for encoding ect go for the 2600k

also try and get an ssd its like night and day having one

I've never built a computer myself...and to be honest, don't have the time right now. These systems are all pre built from the outlet site. I do want an SSD, and if i can't find one that comes with one, i'll fit it myself afterwards.

I would go with the first one, recommend getting a ssd too.
