Hi guys, ive started a few threads about geeting a new car recently.

They have left me with the Toyota Mr2 and the Mazda MX-5.

I positive that these are my 2 best options!

I must add. I have driven neither.

Now i know there is at least a couple owners of each car above. The toyota Spec is fairly straight forward, however the mazda is the Phoenix edition! I like the contrasting leather and he uniqueness of it. Has anyone got a spec sheet of the phoenix over a standard 1.8i?

Can anyone help with the ownership costs of both or other aspects of the cars.

BTW.... Does that Horrid rack come off the MX-5 easily?

Thank You for reading,

Tom

Not been in a MR2 but the MX5 is supreme handling machine :-)

See, what i figured is.... at 18, im not going to get anything insanely quick.

This is where the MR2 & the MX-5 came in, fun at normal driving speeds, great handling and adequate power.

with the main thought being F U N !!!! :D

I like he MR2 more. The interior colour of the MX5 puts me off :O
Also the MR2 looks like an animal (the front of it looks like a turtles face) :)

There was a comparison between the mx5 and the mr2 on top gear a while ago, richard hammond says the mx5 is "one of the best handling cars in the world" deff goes for an mx5. Its around 15 years old and they havent changed it much, says it all really.

Just wondering one thing, has the MX-5 1.8 phoenix got a LSD?

i signed up to the owners club, but forgot my username so i cant log in to ask.

its rare to find i car that i associate 'feminine' with other than the mx5, but the mr2 roadster is one.

go for the mx5

S2000 at 18? I dont think so, would be my obvious choice however!
